lexiCan offers a separate navigation area for creating and managing references. You can choose from a variety of reference types when creating and insert them at any number of places within articles. All references are listed on the left in the navigation under "Reference", e.g.

Create new references via ISBN-Import
If you click on an entry in the reference overview, a tab opens with all the information on the reference, e.g
The reference overview has its own toolbar. You can use it to add new references to the project.
Entries in the search and filter field first filter the entries and reduce the display to those files whose names contain the characters entered. If you also click on the magnifying glass symbol, a full text search of the entire project is started
You can change the view of the list by clicking on the gearwheel icon. If you select "Table", additional columns, such as the author, are displayed, e.g
Using the same icon, you can group the references in different ways, e.g. by "type.
As for articles, a context area is also available for references.
In the context area you can view and change existing assignments of articles, files and tags. Under "Details" you will find the metadata of the referenc, e.g.
You can create new references in two different ways.
a, in the navigation area "References"
To create a new reference, click on "Add" in the function bar of the source overview.
lexiCan then opens an empty tab in the middle of the programme window with input fields that you can use to define and describe the new reference
With the tool bar you can save your entries or cancel the process
b, in the context area of articles and files
New references can also be added in the context area of articles and files and assigned directly to the article or file. To do this, select the area for references in the context area on the right-hand side, click on "Assign" and select "New reference" in the pull-down menu.
lexiCan then opens a dialogue window through which you can create the new reference.
Click on "Ok" to save the new reference.
Creating new references via import using ISBN number
lexiCan offers the possibility to create book references via an ISBN number using the import function. To do so, enter the ISBN number in the corresponding field and click on "Search ISBN", e.g.
As a result, it looks like this.
Click on "Ok" to save the new reference.
To edit or delete an existing reference, call up the corresponding reference from the overview and click on "Edit" or "Delete" in the function bar.
Alternatively, you can use the context menu (right mouse button) to delete in the navigation.
