Special: Working in draft mode

lexiCan Business allows the activation of a special draft mode. This is done at the administrative level (link to the article in the System Administration doc). Please contact your system administrator if necessary.

The following describes what you need to be aware of when draft mode is activated and how it affects the processes, especially when creating and editing articles.

General

Drafts are listed separately in an additional navigation area.

This area is only displayed to users with editorial rights for the project.

As soon as you create a new article, it is initially displayed exclusively in this area. When you change an existing article, a second version of the article is listed here as a draft.

If you open an article for which a draft exists via index or outline, this is made clear via a hint line.

A similar notice is displayed when you open a draft.

Only one draft can exist for an article, so the published version cannot be edited. The button "Edit" is therefore deactivated.

Publish a draft

To publish a new article or the modified version of an existing article, open the corresponding draft and click on "Publish".

An input window is then displayed where you can optionally enter information about changes that have been made. Here you can also delete any intermediate versions of the draft. Then click on "Ok".

The article is then removed from the navigation area "Drafts" and made accessible in this (new) version via index and outline.

Context pane

The draft mode affects the editing of the context pane of an article. Normally, you can make any changes here without having to edit the article. This is different in draft mode.

The attachments, references, tags, synonyms and categories/features assigned to an article can only be changed via the draft of the article. This is made clear by a corresponding note, e.g.

In contrast, a change of the superordination or subordination of an article, cannot be made in draft status.
